Edna Valley Day Trip
Edna Valley Vineyard is perhaps the largest and best known vineyard in Edna Valley. Unlike many of the area wineries, Edna Valley Vineyards is not family owned and operated. However, it is uniquely committed to its own grapes and you will still find distinctive and limited edition state wines there along with several red and white wine varieties.
Another stop not to be missed on the Edna Valley wine tasting tour is Chamisal Vineyards. Chamisal Vineyards was the first ever vineyard in Edna Valley. It was named after the chamise-a plant that thrived on the property. Eventually the vineyard went dormant, but has now been replanted and is thriving. The tasting room is open every day from 10am to 5pm and many of the wines that you find here, you will find no where else.
Claiborne and Churchill offers a unique experience in wine tasting. This is a couple owned and operated winery that focuses on European techniques including barrel aging and using indigenous yeast in fermentation. They focus on producing wines that mimic the fruity wines of the Alsace region of France. Like many other small wineries in the region, if you like something buy it there because you won’t be able to get it anywhere else.
Edna Valley also boasts a variety of smaller, family owned wineries like Piedra Creek, and Kynsi Vineyards. Try a wine tasting tour through Edna Valley for a truly unique experience.
